A subspecies of the Simians, the howlers are often used in battle to
neutralize the enemy's cavalry. The howlers closely resemble baboons,
although larger in size. They possess razor sharp fangs and claws,
which they use upon enemy horses as they intercept cavalry units. The
howlers are aptly named, for they emit shill screams as they descend
upon their targets, screams that have a truly unsettling effect upon
those who hear them. It is known that the howlers were once more docile
than they are today, but many suspect that it was the priests of their
own abandoned gods that perverted the minds of the howlers, turning
these intelligent creatures into crazed monsters.
